Artists Tips and Techniques

Feeling like a real artist? See tips on how to customize your creation below!

Just Paint: If an image provided with the artwork is something simple, like this star, be brave and paint it freehand with the paint marker. Remember not to focus on perfection. Your art will be unique and beautiful -- no overcorrecting.

Make a color darker by dotting with the fat end of the marker and applying layers. The small end may be used for smaller images.

Blend colors with the skinny end of the marker. This will allow all colors to come through without completely mixing.

Blend colors and create texture with the skinny end of the marker.

Mix two colors to make a new color.

Paint an image behind another image in your art. This can help create depth and make your scene look more natural.

Paint an image in front of or on top of another image. This can be used to create depth and to cover up an image you don't like.

Use an image multiple times to create movement like these ants on parade.

Make a provided image bigger or smaller using the easy-to-follow steps.

Clean your markers if they touch another color. Scribble on the art paper and remove as much of the other color as possible. It does not have to be perfect.
